Micah 6:8

New King James Version

He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?

Our journey isn't marked by monuments, but footprints.  Look for Jesus in  the mundane.  Jesus is closer than we realize and cares more than we can imagine.

Luke 24:13-16

New King James Version

Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. 16 But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him.

Listen for Jesus's instruction along the way.

Isaiah 30:21

New King James Version

21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
“This is the way, walk in it,”
Whenever you turn to the right hand
Or whenever you turn to the left.

We must experience Jesus and point others to Him from our very being.

Jeremiah 20:9

New King James Version

Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him,
Nor speak anymore in His name.”
But His word was in my heart like a burning fire
Shut up in my bones;
I was weary of holding it back,

And I could not.

The forgiven forgive

Matthew 5:7

New King James Version

Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.

Mercy is not giving people what they deserve.

We've become great judges of other people's sins, but great lawyers of our own.

We must remind ourselves about how merciful God is to us.

If we think that we can earn God's forgiveness.  Then, we'll expect others to earn our forgiveness.

The forgiven forgive.

Let us remember that we will all face God some day.  Let's stand before God having loved too much rather than judged too much.

God has reconciled our sins if we will only let Him.  Reconciled means to bring it to zero.

Don't count people's sins against them either.  Being a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable.  We are called to show mercy.  Mercy triumphs over judgement.

Jesus connected before He corrected.  We disappoint our own selves.  Disappointment is the gap between expectation and reality.   We are to show mercy to ourselves by forgiving ourselves.

Had enough?

Matthew 5:6

New King James Version

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.

We fill up on the wrong things, so we never experience the goodness of God.

We might have had a taste of God’s righteousness, but never been filled.

Righteousness is right standing with God.  We are made right with God by being made right by God through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Righteousness is typified by living right on this earth according to God’s standard of righteousness.  Some say this is "my truth".  How is that working for you?

God is trying to fill us with His righteousness.  We don't need to wait any longer to be right with God.  We need to look to Him and allow Him to fill us.
