Ephesians 2:19 NKJV
19 Now, therefore, you
are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the
saints and members of the household of God,
Ephesians 3:14-15 NKJV
14 For this reason I bow my
knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the
whole family in heaven and earth is named,
1. Born into a Family of
Unconditional Love.
Christian means
Christ-like. Sometimes we don't act like Him, but God always does.
You can't sin enough for God not to love you.
John 3:3 NKJV
3 Jesus answered and said
to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see
the kingdom of God.”
John 3:16 NKJV
16 For God so loved
the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in
Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Romans 5:8 NKJV
8 But God demonstrates His
own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.
Luke 6:35 NKJV
35 But love your enemies,
do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great,
and you will be sons of the Most High. For He (God) is kind to the
unthankful and evil.
We at times too have been
unthankful and have done evil. God is still kind to us.
2. Adopted into a Family of
(Grace) Unmerited Favor.
Ephesians 1:5 NKJV
5 having predestined us
to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to
the good pleasure of His will,
Galatians 4:6-7 NKJV
6 And because you are sons,
God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba,
Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son,
and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
God is not only the Father, but
your Father if you've trusted in Christ.
Titus 3:3-5 NKJV
3 For we ourselves were
also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures,
living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. 4 But when
the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not
by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He
saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
II Corinthians 6:18 NKJV
18 “I will be a Father
to you,And you shall be My sons and daughters,Says the Lord Almighty.”
If you are in Christ, God is
your Father. Your Dad before you got saved was Satan.
John 8:38-42 NKJV
38 I speak what I have seen
with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.” 39 They
answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.”Jesus said to them, “If you
were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. 40 But
now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from
God. Abraham did not do this. 41 You do the deeds of your father.”Then
they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one
Father—God.” 42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father,
you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come
of Myself, but He sent Me.
John 8:44 NKJV
44 You are of your father
the devil, and
the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the
beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.
When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a
liar and the father of it.
Satan is a bad father. He
is an accuser, a liar, and an abuser. When we get saved, we have to get
adjusted to our new family.
Hebrews 11:24-25 NKJV
24 By faith Moses, when he
became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing
rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing
pleasures of sin,
3. Transferred into a Family of
Unearned Blessings.
Colossians 1:13 NLT
13 For he has
rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us
into the Kingdom of his dear Son,
Genesis 1:28 NKJV
28 Then (first) God blessed them,
and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue
it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of
the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Galatians 3:13-14 NKJV
13 Christ has redeemed
us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for
it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14 that
the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles
in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Psalms 68:6 NLT
6 God places the lonely in
families; he
sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.But he makes the rebellious live in
a sun-scorched land.
If you have no family, you
have a family in Christ. The children don't adopt the parents, but the
parents adopt you. God chose you to be in His family.
God doesn't choose you
last. He chooses you first. God went to the adoption agency of the world
and chose you. Even after we hung His Son Jesus on a Cross.
Ask the Holy Spirit what are
you telling me in these words.
