A Life built on God's Word

The Bible is Alive!

John 6:63 English Standard Version (ESV)

63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

Hebrews 4:12 English Standard Version (ESV)

12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Faith activates the Word.

Hebrews 4:2 English Standard Version (ESV)

For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.

Revelation activates faith.

Luke 1:34-38 English Standard Version (ESV)

34 And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?”
35 And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born[b] will be called holy—the Son of God. 36 And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. 37 For nothing will be impossible with God.” 38 And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Meditation activates revelation.

Joshua 1:7-8 English Standard Version (ESV)

Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success[a]wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

We have to build our lives on God's Word.

Steps to Knowing Christ

1. Must be a student of the Scriptures.

2. Must spend time alone with Him in prayer, worship, and meditation.

3. Must trust Him.

4. Must obey Him.

5. Must observe and record how He works in your life and the lives of other people.

6. Must look for evidence of Christ in every circumstance.

7. Must be willing to lay aside everything that competes with your love for Christ.
