The Bible is of no private
interpretation.
You don't interpret the
Bible.
The Bible interprets
you.
They are now saying that it's
scientifically impossible to live in a fish.
It's scientifically impossible
for the Red Sea to part, or a man to rise up from the dead too.
However, all that proves is
that God is God.
This was the first attack of
Satan.
Did God say (Genesis
3:1)?
If you decide what is God's
word and what is not, then that makes you God, and you don't have to do it.
This is the next attack of the
enemy.
The attack is to say that the
Bible is just literature.
Then, you don't have to talk
about the issues anymore.
Satan tries to cast doubt on
God's word.
Actually, God's word is
bread.
There is one author of the
Bible, God, but 40 writers over 1600 years.
Jesus actually quoted Jonah
saying that just as Jonah was in the huge fish for 3 days and 3 nights, so will
the Son of Man be in the earth for 3 days and 3 nights (Matthew 12:40).
Jesus believed the Bible, and didn't consider it as literature.
Jesus believed the Bible, and didn't consider it as literature.
1. The Bible is our daily
bread.
Exodus 16:4 New International Reader's Version
(NIRV)
4 Then the Lord spoke to Moses.
He said, “I will rain down bread
from heaven for you.
The people must go out each
day.
Have them gather enough bread
for that day.
Here is how I will test
them.
I will see if they will follow
my directions.
Matthew 6:11 New International Reader's Version
(NIRV)
Give us today our daily bread.
God is wanting to give us a
daily word.
What was your word from God
today?
When we don't eat, we kind of
feel yucky and weak.
Psalm 68:19 New International Reader's Version
(NIRV)
19 Give praise to the Lord.
Give praise to God our Savior.
He carries
our heavy loads day after day.
We should read the Bible
everyday first thing.
It's our spiritual
breakfast.
There are different categories
of translations.
A paraphrase is taking the English and putting it into
modern language. The Living Bible is a paraphrase.
An exact equivalency translates word for word from the
original Greek.
A dynamic equivalency translates phrase or thought from the
original Greek.
The exact equivalency is the
New King James Version, New American Standard Bible, and the English Standard
Version. These are for Study.
The dynamic equivalency is the
New Living Translation, the Message, and the New English Version. They are for
reading.
2. The Bible is our sustaining
bread.
Matthew 4:4 New International Reader's Version
(NIRV)
4 Jesus answered, “It is written, ‘Man must not live
only on bread.
If the Bible is just
literature, why did Jesus use it three times to overcome
temptation?
He said "It is
written."
The Word of God is like
bread.
We need food to sustain our
natural bodies.
A whole lot of Christians are
starving from spiritual malnutrition because they are not reading the
Bible.
Isaiah 55:2 New International Reader's Version
(NIRV
)
)
2 Why spend money on what is not food?
Why work for what does not satisfy you?
Listen carefully to me.
Then you will eat what is good.
You will enjoy the richest food there is.
Why would you spend your time
not feeding your spirit?
Job 23:12 New International Reader's Version
(NIRV)
12 I haven’t disobeyed his commands.
I’ve treasured his words more than my daily bread.
Joshua 1:8 New International Reader's Version
(NIRV)
8 Never stop reading this
Book of the Law.
Day and
night you must think about what it says.
Make
sure you do everything written in it.
Then
things will go well with you.
And you
will have great success.
The
most important thing that you can do everyday is to read the Bible if you want
to be successful.
3. The
Bible is our true bread.
John 6:31-35 New International Reader's Version
(NIRV)
31 Long ago our people ate
the manna in the desert.
It is
written in Scripture, ‘The Lord gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ ”
32 Jesus said to them, “What
I’m about to tell you is true.
It is
not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven.
It is my
Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.
33 The bread of God is the
bread that comes down from heaven.
He gives
life to the world.”
34 “Sir,” they said, “always
give us this bread.”
35 Then Jesus said, “I am the
bread of life.
Whoever
comes to me will never go hungry.
And
whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
Jesus
is the Bread of life from heaven.
John 6:48-51 New International Reader's Version
(NIRV)
48 I am the bread of
life.
49 Long ago your people ate
the manna in the desert, and they still died.
50 But here is the bread that
comes down from heaven.
A person
can eat it and not die.
51 I am the living bread that
came down from heaven.
Everyone
who eats some of this bread will live forever.
This
bread is my body.
I will
give it for the life of the world.”
John 1:1, 14 New International Reader's Version
(NIRV)
1 In the beginning, the Word was already
there.
The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
14 The Word became a human being.
He made his home with us.
We have seen his glory.
It is the glory of the One and Only, who came from
the Father.
And the Word was full of grace and truth.
Jesus is the Word of God.
Revelation 19:11-13 New International Reader's
Version (NIRV)
11 I saw heaven standing open.
There in front of me was a white horse.
Its rider is called Faithful and True.
When he judges or makes war, he is always
fair.
12 His eyes are like blazing fire.
On his head are many crowns.
A name is written on him that only he knows.
13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood. His name is
the Word of God.
Why am I telling you
this?
When you read the Bible, you
are taking in Jesus.
John 6:63 New International Reader's Version
(NIRV)
63 The Holy Spirit gives life.
The body means nothing at all.
The words I have spoken to you are full of the
Spirit.
They give life.
The more you read the Bible.
The more Jesus gets in you.
Think about this.
We have the key to everything.
We have the secret to miracles.
We have God's autobiography.
We have an encyclopedia about Him from
Him.
We have the Words of eternal life.
We have the answer to our every problem.
It's an app on our phones that we seldom
open.
I promise you if you read the Bible it will
change your life.
I was praying about putting my house up for sale.
Then, I read this in my daily Bible
reading.
Genesis 35:1 New International Reader's Version
(NIRV)
35 Then God said to Jacob, “Go up to Bethel
and live there.
Build an altar there to honor me.
That’s where I appeared to you when you were
running away from your brother Esau.”
We had previously had our house
up for sale for 6 months without any showings.
It was the only house in the
neighborhood for sale.
After reading that verse, we
put our house back up for sale.
There were 6 other houses up
for sale in our neighborhood.
Within two weeks, we had a
bidding war for our house.
We sold our house.
We moved to Keller, Texas, and
started a church with 30 people.
Now, we have 30,000 people attending
every week because God spoke to me in His Word, the Bible.
Ask the Holy
Spirit.
What are you saying to me in
these words?
God is saying to read and
revere His Word, the Bible.
Holy Spirit draw every person
to God our Father who needs you.
Say Lord Jesus, save me.
Forgive me.
Be my Lord and Savior.
Say Lord Jesus, save me.
Forgive me.
Be my Lord and Savior.
