Prayer is the most powerful weapon in the arsenal of the believer, but it is seldom used.
Romans 12:12 (CSB)
12 Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer.
Our hope is in our Savior. We don't have to pray perfectly or to be perfect.
Why not talk to God all the time?
Nehemiah 8:10 C (CSB)
10 the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
John 7:38 Christian Standard Bible (CSB)
38 The one who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.”
Where does your joy come from? It comes from the Lord. As bad as it might get, our joy is in Him.
Who do you call when you are in trouble?
You are not an interruption on Jesus's day. Our lives are not an interruption to our Holy God.
It's God's will that you talk to Him about everything.
1 John 5:14 (CSB)
14 This is the confidence we have before him: If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
1 John 1:9 (CSB)
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
2 Peter 3:9 (CSB)
9 The Lord does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.
His will is to forgive you and give you mercy. Go boldly before His throne of grace. (Hebrews 4:16)
God stretches out His hand and begs you to tag Him for mercy.
Psalm 50:15 (CSB)
15 Call on me in a day of trouble;
I will rescue you, and you will honor me.”
I will rescue you, and you will honor me.”
Matthew 11:28 (CSB)
28 “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
You don't get rest in the Church. You find rest in Him.
Prayer is the laundry for your sin. That's where you get clean. Your sins are not separated from your salvation.
Salvation clings to your sin. It penetrates it. It lifts it up.
Isaiah 1:18 (CSB)
18 “Come, let us settle this,”says the Lord.
“Though your sins are scarlet,
they will be as white as snow;though they are crimson red,
they will be like wool.
Red is a difficult color to get out of clothes. Isaiah didn't say black or brown but red.
When your red sin is covered with the red blood of Christ, it becomes completely invisible.
Sometimes God will ask you to do something that only He can get the glory. Please give God the opportunity to be God.
Are you far from God?
Do you need Jesus? Pray.
Dear Jesus, I am a sinner.
I can't save myself.
I'm asking for you to save me.
Please be my Lord and Savior.
