Romans 12:2 New International Version (NIV)
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
If you don't get this transformation in your head right, you won't get anything else right. You must fix the pattern in your head to get a different life.
It not about hearing great sermons, but living them out. If you're not conforming your mind to God's word, you will follow the pattern of the world.
I want to know God more than I want to know God's will. If I know God, I will know His will.
Isaiah 55:9 New King James Version (NKJV)
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
Gratitude opens the door to God's blessings. Jesus wants you to find Him.
So are My ways higher than your ways,
Jeremiah 29:13 New King James Version (NKJV)
13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
As a father, the goal in hide and seek is to be found. Not to stay hidden. God hides from you to be found by you. We are to seek Him. Not His blessings.
You have to get clear vision. If you get a clear vision of what God's will is, it will eliminate a lot of questions.
We must have a clear vision for our life, our marriage, our career. Look at life like a puzzle in a box.
Build the borders (boundaries) first to build your puzzle. The Bible is your box top of your puzzle. It tells you what your life is to look like.
1. It's not what God wants, but who does God what you to be like? (Romans 8:29)
2. What do you want?
The things that you desire reveal who you are. (Matthew 6:33)
3. What do you see?
Two people can look at the same thing and see two different things. Once you've seen something. You can't unsee it. It changes you.
Ephesians 1:18 (NIV)
18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,
Your heart has eyes. If you see people like God sees them, it'll be like seeing people differently for the first time.
God opens your eyes to the real them, so you'll transfer your dislikes into prayer requests for them.
Jeremiah 1:5-6 (NIV)
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
6 “Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.”
Jeremiah is telling God. I'm not gifted. God doesn't call the gifted. He gifts the called.
before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:7, 8, 11 A (NIV)
7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you.
8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.
11 The word of the Lord came to me: “What do you see, Jeremiah?”
Say what God tells you to say. If you see what God sees, you'll say what God says. He will be with you.
What you see is not all there is? When you get your life into alignment to God's will, you'll see God's vision before you hear God's voice.
God will give you favor when you see the vision. You will face opposition. For every acre of God's territory, the enemy will fight you for it.
If the enemy can't defeat you, he will distract you.
Nehemiah 6:1-3 New International Version (NIV)
6 When word came to Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab and the rest of our enemies that I had rebuilt the wall (God's will) and not a gap was left in it—though up to that time I had not set the doors in the gates
— 2 Sanballat and Geshem sent me this message: “Come, let us meet together (distration) in one of the villages on the plain of Ono.”
But they were scheming to harm me;
When the enemy says come to Ono that when you say oh no!
3 so I sent messengers to them with this reply: “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?”
The enemy will always try to talk you out of what God is calling you too. What answer are you praying into reality today before the problem even exists.
Just because you've failed doesn't mean that you are a failure. All have sinned and a fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Do you need Jesus?
Tell him today. Jesus I can't save myself. I give to you my failures. I know that I haven't gone so far that your mercy can't find me. Be my Lord and Savior.
