Matthew 5:13-16 (NLT)
“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is
salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown
out and trampled underfoot as worthless.
1. You are to be Salt by making things better.
14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that
cannot be hidden.
15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it
under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to
everyone in the house.
2. You are to be the Light by making things brighter.
16 In the same way, let your good deeds
shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
How to be Salt and Light.
1. Most people don't see God clearly or
correctly.
2. All lost people need to be loved
unconditionally. (Do you connect or correct?)
3. Most lost people don't come to the
church for help.
4. Most Christians don't connect
strategically with the lost.
5. Most Christians need training on sharing
their faith.
6. All Christians need to be Spiritually
empowered.
Rule of 5
Swing the axe 5 times every day to the same tree, at the same place, and it will eventually fall.
1. Connect and care for lost people
Matthew 9:35-38 (NLT)
35 Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that
area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the
Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.
36 When
he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and
helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
37 He said to his
disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.
38 So
pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers
into his fields.”
God is at His best at your
worst.
2. Pray for an opportunity to
share your faith.
3. Intentionally look for
opportunities to drop positive God thoughts.
4. Add value to others,
so that you can earn an opportunity to share.
5. Strategically work on
a lost people to love and pray for list.
Read Proverbs 31.
