Jesus was on a mission to help hurting people.
Luke 4:16-19 (NKJV)
16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when
He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:
18 “The Spirit
of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
Jesus
raised the widow's son from the dead.
Luke 7:11-17 New King
James Version (NKJV)
11 Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd.
12 And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her.
13 When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.”
14 Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.”
15 So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented
him to his mother.
16 Then fear came
upon all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen
up among us”; and, “God has visited His people.”
17 And
this report about Him went throughout all Judea and all the surrounding region.
It is the will
of God that we would be on a collusion course of compassion with others.
How can we be
the Hands and Feet of Jesus?
1. We are to
go and feel their pain.
When you hear about a need, go take care of
it.
2. We are to
look for the lost.
Lost things are valuable.
3. We are
to love the unlovable.
4. We are to
give hope to the hopeless.
5. We are to
offer the Grace of God to others by pointing them to Jesus.
Life is best
lived when we go from Me to We.
