The Way out of Financial Stress

Psalm 34:18 (GNT)

18 The Lord is near to those who are discouraged;
he saves those who have lost all hope.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (MSG)

13 No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.

Luke 15:17-18  (ESV)

17 “But when he (the younger son) came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father's hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger!  18 I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you,

The Way out of Financial Stress.

1. Acknowledge the reality of where you are and that you need help.

Psalm 51:5-6 (MSG)

I’ve been out of step with you for a long time,
in the wrong since before I was born.
What you’re after is truth from the inside out.
Enter me, then; conceive a new, true life.

Psalm 32:3-5 (NLT)

When I refused to confess my sin,
    my body wasted away,
and I groaned all day long.
Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me.
My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat.Interlude
Finally, I confessed all my sins to you
and stopped trying to hide my guilt.
I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.”
And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.

2. Develop a plan of attack to eliminate debt.

Proverbs 27:12 (NLT)

12 A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions.
The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.

3.  Don't put it off.

2 Corinthians 6:2 (NLT)

For God says,
“At just the right time, I heard you.
On the day of salvation, I helped you.”
Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.

4.  Humbly ask your Father, God, for help.

1 Peter 5:5A-7  (NLT)

“God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble.”
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

God wants to help you.  Debt is bad.  Savings are good. Giving is fun.  Stuff is meaningless.
