The Order is Important
(Psalm 90:12) “Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a
heart of wisdom.”
Order determines capacity.
(Matthew 6:31-33) “So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or
'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run
after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you
need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and
all these things will be given to you as well.”
Order communicates priority.
(Revelation 2:2-4) I (Jesus) know your deeds, your hard work and your
perseverance…Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your
first love.”
Order impacts the rest.
(Proverbs 3:6-10) “In all your ways acknowledge him…Honor the
LORD with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then
your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over
with new wine.”
What's Most Important?
(Proverbs 17:24 GN) “An intelligent person aims at wise action, but a
fool starts off in many directions.”
The distance between the truth you know
and the truth you live equals the pain
you experience.
1. Discover your values.
(2 Corinthians 13:8 NLT) “Our responsibility is never to oppose the
truth, but to stand for the truth at all times.”
What do you love deeply?
What makes you righteously angry?
2. Determine what is most important.
(Proverbs 29:18 KJV) “Where there is no vision, the people
perish…”
What is my lifeʼs mission?
(Acts 20:24) “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if
only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has
given me.”
(Ephesians 5:15-17) “Be very careful, then, how you live--not as
unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because
the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what
the Lord's will is.”
3. Decide who is most important.
(Matthew 22:37-40) “Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and
greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your
neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these
two commandments.”
Make relationships the priority.
Put God first.
