We are living in a world that has an immense amount of darkness. You're the hope for it. Jesus didn't say that you might be. Jesus declares it. Don't settle for being a little bit of light.
Matthew 5:14-16 New King James Version (NKJV)
14 “You are the light of the world.
We are living in a world that has an immense amount of darkness. You're the hope for it. Jesus didn't say that you might be. Jesus declares it. Don't settle for being a little bit of light. Set as your goal to be the lightest light that you can be.
A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
The light that we carry is our good works. We are not saved by good works; however, we will do good works because we are saved. We do it to shine God's light on it. Our faith is personal, but not private. We are saved to do good.
1 Peter 2:12 New King James Version (NKJV)
12 having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.
Do good works, and earn the right to be heard by others. God's purpose for us is to do good works.
Hebrews 10:24 New King James Version (NKJV)
24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
Our works must not be great works, but little things with great love. The world takes notice if someone shows love with small acts of kindness. This is easy to be understood, and harder to walk out. Set good works as your goal.
