Even the world connects prayer with a crisis. Your prayer life will begin to prioritize your life. Prayer should be our first response, and not our last resort.
Colossians 4:2 (NKJV)
2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;
The average Christian prays only 21 minutes a month. That must not be true with us. If you take prayer serious, your life will be marked by miracles.
God is not a enforcer. He is a filler. Wherever you make room, He will fill it.
If honor is in you, it comes out of you. If you honor God, He will honor you (1 Samuel 2:30).
Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
John 15:5 (NKJV)
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who (first) abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Busyness robs us of our time with Jesus. Our hope and courage must not be tied to our circumstances but to our Savior.
Out of the overflow of our time with God, that's where the rest of our life should happen.
When we've been with Jesus, other people can see it. God wants to unlock His purpose into us through prayer.
1. Pray the Word of God.
Job 22:28 (NKJV)
28 You will also declare a thing,
And it will be established for you;
And it will be established for you;
So light will shine on your ways.
Isaiah 58:8 (NKJV)
8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
2. Take a prayer walk.
Mark 1:35 (NKJV)
35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.
3. Journal your prayers.
It puts you in a posture of gratitude. When doubt tempts you, show it your past prayer answers. Will you believe it before you see it?
1 Peter 5:7 (AMPC)
7 Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
Stop monitoring things that you've placed into God's hands. There is a process in our prayers, so they might take time.
1 John 5:14 (NKJV)
14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
God answers prayer based upon who He is and not who you are (Chris Hodges).
1. There is a natural kind of faith.
We sit in a chair, and believe that it will hold us up. A farmer plants his seed and believes for a harvest.
2. There is a saving kind of faith.
Ephesians 2:8 New King James Version (NKJV)
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.
3. There is a supernatural faith for miracles.
We put our faith in God's abilities not in ours. Our faith will never rise above our renewed mind.
Romans 12:2 English Standard Version (ESV)
2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 English Standard Version (ESV)
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
