Your life is like one of two houses. They are different based upon how they respond to a storm. One stands the test and one does not.
One person is wise who does what Jesus teaches them to do, and one who does not. Do not hear and ignore Jesus's teaching.
Matthew 7:24-27 New Living Translation (NLT)
24 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.
25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.
26 But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand.
27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”
Will you actually put into practice what Jesus teaches or not? You get one life, one turn. Don't rush through your foundation.
How is your foundation? Are you confident in in it or is it shaky? Why do you call Jesus Lord, and not do what He says?
Are you deluded into thinking that hearing God's word is enough?
James 1:22 New Living Translation (NLT)
22 But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
Storms are great in showing your foundation, and tells you what you must work on. Check the fruit of the Spirit while you are in the test.
Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT)
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
Great is the fall of those who do not put into practice Jesus's teaching. Don't just listen. Get in the game.
