God in the little things

Give your best wherever God puts you.

Wherever you are...

Elisha was just a farmer. God sees greatness in you that you don't see in yourself.

1 Kings 19:19 New Living Translation (NLT)
19 So Elijah went and found Elisha son of Shaphat plowing a field. There were twelve teams of oxen in the field, and Elisha was plowing with the twelfth team. Elijah went over to him and threw his cloak across his shoulders and then walked away.

God called Elisha when He was a nobody.

1 Kings 19:21 New Living Translation (NLT)
21 So Elisha returned to his oxen and slaughtered them. He used the wood from the plow to build a fire to roast their flesh. He passed around the meat to the townspeople, and they all ate. Then he went with Elijah as his assistant.

Elisha burned his bridges behind him. The oxen which was his livelihood he gave away for the townspeople to eat.

Give your best in obscurity, and God will reward it. God watches the obscure things that we do.

Luke 16:10 New Living Translation (NLT)
10 “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.

Give your best in the natural and God will do the supernatural.  Elisha was faithful in any task that he was assigned too.

2 Kings 2:9-10 New Living Translation (NLT)
When they came to the other side, Elijah said to Elisha, “Tell me what I can do for you before I am taken away.”
And Elisha replied, “Please let me inherit a double share of your spirit and become your successor.”
10 “You have asked a difficult thing,” Elijah replied. “If you see me when I am taken from you, then you will get your request. But if not, then you won’t.”

Don't get so trapped in the natural that you don't ask God's help in the supernatural.

Give your best in small things and God will give you bigger things to do.

God first tests us in the details.  The little things matter.

Elisha did more recorded miracles than anyone except Jesus.
