How to pray for the lost

What we're talking about today is 90% of what Jesus is interested in talking about.  It's about reaching the lost.

Luke 19:10(ESV)
10 For the Son of Man (Jesus) came to seek and to save the lost.”

We love to see people coming into God's kingdom, but we must ask.

Psalm 2:8(NKJV)
Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.

There are people who would get saved right now if we would just do our part.

John 4:35 (ESV)
35 Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I (Jesus) tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.

Here are some ways that we can pray for our lost friends and love ones.

1. Ask the Father to draw them to Jesus.

John 6:44 (ESV)
44 No one can come to me (Jesus) unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

2. Ask the Father to bind the spirit that blinds their minds.

2 Corinthians 4:4  (ESV)
In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

3. Pray that they may have a personal relationship with God.

Romans 8:15 (ESV)
15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

4.  Pray for believers who will love them will cross their paths.

Matthew 9:38 (ESV)
38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

5. Pray that we will be sensitive to those who cross our path to love and reach them.
