Trust in God, and take a
step. Our whole lives are not to bring
us joy, but God glory.
Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares
the Lord, plans for welfare and not for
evil, to give you a future and a hope.
This was written while God's
people were in captivity. Even in captivity God can bless.
Everything that God gives us in
addition to salvation is a bonus. Don't give God demands. God acts upon His reasons not
ours.
Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we
should walk in them.
We still have to walk in them.
John 10:10 (ESV)
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I
came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
We have a choice to live abundantly or to have our lives stolen from us.
John 3:16 (ESV)
“For God so loved the
world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have eternal life.
We still have to believe to not
perish. There is action for us to do. We still have a
choice.
We want to do big things, but
most of us don't do anything. We don't have the desire to put the work
in.
If we fall down, we don't
have to stay down. We can get up and keep on going.
1. First, we need to eliminate
the wrong voices in our lives.
So many people try to talk us out of our purpose that
God is trying to walk us into. Wrong voices are really comfortable to
listen too.
2. Turn the right voices up.
Focus
on the right things. When we don't think that we have anything, we can
be thankful for God providing eternity for us.
Let's quit making excuses for our
negative personalities.
1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 (ESV)
pray without ceasing, give
thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for
you.
Let's replace our whining with
worship.
God is old school. He's not like a GPS, but like a map.
We've got to stop.
Let's look at our map, the Bible.
Then, the Holy
Spirit will talk to us.
We can't do this by ourselves.
3. Start now.
Big dreams without small starts are just
daydreams. Let's stop just talking about faith, and start walking in faith.
Faith
without works is dead (James 2:20). We fake faith, and play with faith,
but have no faith.
Faith is not easy. If God don't do it, it won't
happen.
Matthew 19:26 (ESV)
26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With
man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
God plus a person who believes in Him makes all things possible.
Joel 3:10 (NKJV)
10 Beat your plowshares into swords
And your pruning hooks into spears;
And your pruning hooks into spears;
Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’
”
Recognize who you are without Him, and
recognize who you are with Him.
1 John 4:4 (NKJV)
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them,
because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
Lord, I am weak without you, but with you I am strong. God, I
can't, but with you I can. Lord Jesus, be the center of my
life.
Romans 10:13 (NKJV)
13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall
be saved.”
