If you'll save in abundance, you'll have provision during the famine.
Genesis 50:16-20 (NKJV)
16 So they sent messengers to Joseph, saying, “Before your father died he commanded, saying,17 ‘Thus you shall say to Joseph: “I beg you, please forgive the trespass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you.” ’ Now, please, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.
18 Then his brothers also went and fell down before his face, and they said, “Behold, we are your servants.”
19 Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God?
20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
1. I'm not God.
Don't try to do God's part. Quit trying to play God in everyone's life. Only God is Judge.
It's easy to judge other people's sin and to be blind to your own sin. Relinquish control of the universe.
When you sit in God's seat as judge, it's easy to get bitter.
Let God be God. Surrender others to the Lord.
1 Peter 2:23 (NKJV)
23 who, when He (Jesus) was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;Lord, will you be God? God will be far more merciful to you than man will ever will.
The Book of Genesis begins with Adam and Eve trying to be like God. The Book ends with Joseph realizing that he is not.
2. You're not in control.
Man intends one thing, but God has a whole different intention.
Joseph had to get his eyes off his brothers, and get them on the Lord. The enemy will make plans, but his plans will fail.
What God is doing for you is bigger than what anyone has done to you.
Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV)
17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
Weapons will be formed against you, but they will not succeed.
Sometimes your enemies will do more to promote you than your
friends.
The minute you respond to drama you become a part of the cast.
Psalm 105:16-17 (NKJV)
16 Moreover He called for a famine in the land;
He destroyed all the provision of bread.
17 He sent a man before them—
He destroyed all the provision of bread.
17 He sent a man before them—
Joseph was not a victim to the hand of man, but being blessed by the hand of God.
There is no one holding you back but you. Self pity is a prison of your own devices.
Get out of the space that God is trying to occupy. The God who is for us is greater than He who is against us.
Acts 4:27-28 (NKJV)
27 “For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together28 to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done.
There is not a man on earth or a devil in hell that will keep God from his purpose.
Genesis 50:20 (NKJV)
20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.Your dream is not about you. It's about God. I would rather have a God's size dream and experience half of it.Than to have a man's sized dream and to experience all of it.
Dreams are not about you, but about serving others. When Joseph dreamed about wheat, he focused on the bowing not feeding his hungry brothers.
If we want to lead at the highest level, we must be willing to serve at the lowest level.
We are to go after the people that nobody wants. Then, God will send to us the people that everybody wants.
