Influence Killers
When we become gripped with fear.
(Acts 9:13-14) "Lord," Ananias answered,
"I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to
your saints in Jerusalem. 14And he has come here with authority from the chief
priests to arrest all who call on your name."
When we struggle with insecurity.
(Judges 6:12, 15) When the angel of the LORD
appeared to Gideon, he said, "The LORD is with you, mighty warrior."
"But Lord”, Gideon asked, "how can I save Israel? My clan is the
weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family."
When we maintain unhealthy relationships.
(Psalm 1:1-2) “Blessed is the man who does not
walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the
seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he
meditates day and night.”
When we canʼt shake the sin.
(Hebrews 12:1) “Therefore, since we are surrounded
by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders
and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race
marked out for us.”
Unstoppable Influence
1. Listen to the Holy Spirit and Godly people.
(Acts 9:10) In Damascus there was a disciple named
Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, “Ananias!” “Yes, Lord,” he
answered.
(John 10:27 NLT) “My sheep recognize my voice; I
know them, and they follow me.”
2. Trust God over your intellect.
(Acts 9:13-14) “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have
heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your saints
in Jerusalem. And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to
arrest all who call on your name.”
(Proverbs 3:5) “Trust in the LORD with all your
heart and lean not on your own understanding…”
3. Believe what God tells you (if it lines up with Scripture) no matter what.
(Acts 9:15) But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This
man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their
kings and before the people of Israel.”
4. Go and do what God has told you to do.
(Acts 9:17-18) Then Ananias went to the house and
entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—
Jesus…has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy
Spirit.” Immediately, something like scales fell from Saulʼs eyes, and he could
see again. He got up and was baptized…
