Time of Your Life
(Job 7:6) “My days are swifter than a weaverʼs shuttle, and they come
to an end without hope. Remember, O God, that my life is but a breath.”
(Job 9:25) “My days are swifter than a runner; they fly away without a
glimpse of joy.”
(Psalm 39:4-5 NLT) “LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will
be. Remind me that my days are numbered, and that my life is fleeing
away. My life is no longer than the width of my hand. An entire lifetime is
just a moment to you; human existence is but a breath.”
(James 4:13-14) “Now listen, you who say, ʻToday or tomorrow we will
go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make
money.ʼ Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What
is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then
vanishes.”
Your Days Are Numbered
(Psalm 90:12) “Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a
heart of wisdom.”
Put first things first.
Give focus and energy to the things that
really matter.
Do it now.
What to Do First
1. Turn when into now.
(2 Corinthians 6:2) “I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is
the day of salvation.”
2. Turn intentions into actions.
(James 4:17) “Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do
and doesn't do it, sins.”
Focus on power.
(1 Peter 4:7) “The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear
minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.”
Focus on people.
(1 Peter 4:8-9) “Above all, love each other deeply, because
love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one
another without grumbling.”
Focus on your purpose.
(1 Peter 4:10-11) “Each one should use whatever gift he has
received to serve others, faithfully administering Godʼs grace in
its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one
speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should
do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God
may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and
the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
3. Turn my whole heart toward Jesus.
(Mark 12:34) “When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he
said to him, ʻYou are not far from the kingdom of God.ʼ”
