To get to our best day ever, we must go
through our worse day ever.
When Adam and Eve were kicked out of
paradise, they had their worse day ever.
From that day forward, all our bad days are connected to that
day.
Genesis
3:22-24(NLT)
22 Then the Lord God
said, “Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil.
What
if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will
live forever!”
23 So the Lord God banished them from the Garden of Eden, and he sent Adam out to cultivate the ground from which
he had been made.
24 After
sending them out, the Lord God stationed mighty
cherubim to the east of the Garden of Eden.
And he placed a flaming sword that
flashed back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
Jesus stepped into our worse day to offer God's best
day.
Luke 23:39 (NLT)
39 One
of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, “So you’re the Messiah, are you?
Prove it by saving yourself—and us, too, while you’re at it!”
You can be so close to Jesus, but still miss Him.
This
criminal on the cross was right beside Him, but still missed Him.
Luke 23:40-41 (NLT)
40 But
the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been
sentenced to die?
41 We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything
wrong.”
Both of the criminals turned their heads towards Jesus, but
one turned his heart.
In your worse day, reach out for Jesus.
Luke 23:42 (NLT)
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your
Kingdom.”
This criminal acknowledged his own sin. He recognized
Jesus for who he was.
His prayer wasn't a fancy prayer, but it was effective.
He asked
Jesus to remember Him in His kingdom. This criminal believed in the resurrection.
Luke 23:43 (NLT)
43 And
Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me
in paradise.”
This criminal didn't have much time, but Jesus didn't need
much time.
Forgiveness is in a instant.
Jesus was going to
paradise. The very first person who entered paradise with Jesus was this
criminal.
Getting into paradise is not based upon your good works, but
whom you're with. If you're with Jesus, you'll get in.
In Eden, Adam's day began in paradise, but ended in
punishment.
For this criminal, his day began in punishment, but ended in
paradise because he turned his heart to Jesus.
God is not against you. He is for you. Jesus is for
you when your circumstances are against you.
One good decision can save you from a lifetime of bad
decisions.
You may have forgotten Jesus, but Jesus has never forgotten you.
Ask Jesus to come into your life to be your Lord and
Savior, and you, too, can have your best day ever.
