Jesus, Our Prince of Peace

1. The Place of Bethlehem- God called Bethlehem the least of the cities of Judah.

2. The People of Bethlehem- King David came from Bethlehem, but he was just a shepherd when he fought Goliath.  Joseph was an ordinary carpenter. Mary was just a teenager. Bethlehem is a place of ordinary people.

I Samuel 16:1 NKJV1 Now the Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.”

I Samuel 16:4 NKJV 4 So Samuel did what the Lord said, and went to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, “Do you come peaceably?”

3. The Problems of Bethlehem- Mary and Joseph had to travel 75 miles for a census while Mary was about to have a baby.  When they arrived in Bethlehem, they couldn't find a hotel room.

4. The Promise of Bethlehem- Jesus came into the world to bring peace.  It is not the absence of problems, but trusting Jesus in the midst of our problems.   Jesus can bring you peace in the midst of your problems.

Micah 5:4-5 NKJV
4 And He shall stand and feed His flock In the strength of the Lord,In the majesty of the name of the Lord His God;And they shall abide,For now He shall be great To the ends of the earth;
5 And this One shall be peace.When the Assyrian comes into our land,And when he treads in our palaces,Then we will raise against him Seven shepherds and eight princely men.

What is the Holy Spirit saying to me through this message?
