You don't have to settle for
survival when God offers significance.
Philippians 3:12-14 (NIV)
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already
arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which
Christ Jesus took hold of me.
13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have
taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and
straining toward what is ahead,
14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for
which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
When you are in survival mode:
A. You have low expectations, and you feel
stuck.
1. You have no hope.
2. You follow the path of least resistance.
B. You are self focused, and think about
self preservation.
1. People around you disappear.
2. You check out.
(This is the enemy's plan to steal, kill, and
destroy you).
This world offers survival with zero
guarantees.
God saves us from something, so that He can
save us for something.
Romans 4:17 (NIV)
17 As it is written: “I have made you a father of many
nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the
God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were
not.
God can give you hope where there is no hope.
