John 4:23 (NKJV)
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the
true worshipers will worship
the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking
such to worship Him.
God is
looking for worshipers who are not concerned about what other people
think.
God doesn't
need our worship. Why then would He seek it? It's for us not
Him. The result of our worship is joy.
God created
us to worship. We've got to be set free from holding back. Worship
means to lay prostate and kiss.
The word picture
is of a man petting an obedient dog while the dog licks him.
David was a
worshiper. David knew that he could worship himself out of his
problems. David was committed to worshiping God at all times.
Psalm 34:1-3(NKJV)
I
will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.
Paul was the
same way.
Philippians 4:4 (NKJV)
They
knew the secret sauce of having an intimate relationship with God.
Romans 5:8 (NKJV)
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that
while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Worship
is based upon God's worth not our feelings. We must experience presence
filled worship.
Psalm 34:8 (NKJV)
8 Oh, taste
and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts
in Him!
It's
not about me. It's about Him.
