Trailblazers

Have you ever missed something because of your behavior?

How were you acting in the moment?

The grace of God is earned, but freely given (Romans 6:23).

Favor is a different thing.

The People of Israel under Moses loved God, but they didn't believe that God would do what God said that He would do.

The children of Israel had be stuck for 40 years. How about you?

Joshua 1:10-11(ESV)
10 And Joshua commanded the officers of the people,
11 “Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, ‘Prepare your provisions, for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan to go in to take possession of the land that the Lord your God is giving you to possess.’”

Say goodbye to what God has done.  Say hello to what God is about to do.

Are you comfortable wearing the faith that God has called you to wear?

Do you have faith to believe that God knows what He is doing?

God has something new for you.

Revelation 21:5 (ESV)
5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Why would Jesus turn water into wine (John 2)?

It was only an embarrassment to run out of wine.  It was not life or death.

The pots of water were used to wash.  Jesus used the nasty water to make the water wine.

The servant had to take that water to the manager of the feast.  Jesus made that water into wine.

Only God would take something to be thrown out, and make it totally new.

Psalm 96:1  (ESV)
Oh sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth!

It's dangerous not to trust God.  The people of Israel longed for slavery again.

They took a 11 day journey, and made it into a 40 year way of life. (Deuteronomy 1:2)

1. This year won't be easy, but it will be good.

Nothing great is ever easy. God takes you through tough times to show you things that are in you that you didn't know were there.

Can God trust you with trouble?  It's the trouble that defines you.

2. You can't stay here.

With God, there is a destination to your destiny. Prepare to go beyond where you are.

3. We have a promise from a Holy God.

Hebrews 13:5  (ESV)
Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

God is not hiding from you, but He is waiting for you.

Deuteronomy 4:29  (ESV)
29 But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.

4. Remove the distractions.

We have stuff stopping us that doesn't matter.  Multitasking is not focusing on anything.  What is your one thing.

 David said...

Psalm 27:4 (ESV)
One thing have I asked of the Lord,
    that will I seek after:

that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in his temple.

The Jordan River was flooding. We must take a first step.

Joshua 3:13 (ESV)
13 And when the soles of the feet of the priests bearing the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off from flowing, and the waters coming down from above shall stand in one heap.”

James 4:8 (NKJV)
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

Revelation 3:20  (NKJV)
20 Behold, I (Jesus) stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Romans 10:13  (NKJV)
13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
