Generosity is an act of worship. Our heart always follows our head. Giving is an act of our will.
Leviticus
27:30 (NKJV)
30 And all the tithe... is holy
to the Lord.
The tithe is not
given to the Lord. It is returned to Him. Your ability to work is a gift from God, too.
Job 41:11 B (NKJV)
Everything under heaven is Mine (God).
All our money and time belongs to God. We are not the owner
of anything, but the manager of it for Him.
1 Chronicles
28:3-4 (NKJV)
But God said to me (David), ‘You shall not build
a house for My name, because you have
been a man of war and have shed blood.’
King David
loved God. God wouldn't allow David to build His temple, but
He did provide David the opportunity to give to it.
1
Chronicles 29:14 (NKJV)
But who am I (David), and who are my
people,
That we
should be able to offer so willingly as this?
For all things come from You,
And of Your own we have given You.
For all things come from You,
And of Your own we have given You.
In the New Testament,
even the poor were allowed to give.
2
Corinthians 8 (NLT)
2 They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity.
3 For I (Paul) can testify that they gave not only what they
could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will.
4 They begged us again and again for the privilege of
sharing in
the gift for the believers in Jerusalem.
5 They
even did more than we had hoped, for their first action was to give
themselves to the Lord and to us, just as God wanted them to do.
Surrender
yourself first to God. Then, ask God for His direction in giving,
and expect Him to answer.
God
is the God of the resupply. God is looking for someone who is willing to be
used. It starts a great adventure.
Will
you be the one whom God uses to answer someone's prayer? Are you willing
to say the prayer "Lord will you use me?"
Transform your faith by
surrendering to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Father, please put me
into the game.
John 3:16 (NKJV)
16 For God so
loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus),
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Generosity begins with God. Allow God to give His gift to you.
Lord Jesus , I take your gift. Be my Lord and Savior.
