Hebrews 11:1 (NET Bible)
Now faith is being sure
of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see.
Hope is
being sure of how things will turn out.
Hope speaks of the future.
1 Corinthians 15:19 (KJV)
If in this life only we
have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
If you
want to be miserable, live only for the here and now.
Invest
in what will have an eternal impact.
Romans 15:13 (NKJV)
Now may the God of hope
fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit.
God is
both defined by hope and described by it.
Hebrews 6:19 (NKJV)
19 This hope we
have as an anchor (Jesus) of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters
the (God's) Presence behind the veil (of heaven),
If you
have an anchor, it will hold you in place, so you will not drift.
If you
have an anchor for your soul, you thoughts and emotions remain in
check.
Our
anchor is not at the bottom of the sea, but is tied to Jesus who sits at the
right hand of God in the heaven.
Luke 8:43-48 (NKJV)
43 Now a woman, having
a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on
physicians and could not be healed by any, came from behind
and touched the border of His (Jesus's) garment. And immediately her flow of blood
stopped.
45 And Jesus said, “Who
touched Me?”
When
all denied it, Peter and those with
him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You
say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ”
46 But Jesus said, “Somebody
touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.”
47 Now
when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling
down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the
reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.
48 And He said to
her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you
well. Go in peace.”
This
woman had no help, and people were tired of hearing about her problem.
She pressed through the crowd to have a personal encounter with Jesus.
She refused to remain in her current
reality.
We too can be changed if we have an encounter with Jesus.
Romans 8:24-25 (NKJV)
24 For we were saved in this
hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for
what he sees?
25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we
eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
Hold on to God's Word.
Optimistically view your
life through the lens of eternity.
Purely live your life
because of your hope in Jesus.
Endure no matter what
happens.
1 John 3:3 (NKJV)
3 And everyone who has this
hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
I was
without hope until someone spoke hope into me.
John 3:16 (NKJV)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
