Converting Fear into Faith

Let’s Give Hope

(2 Corinthians 1:10 NIV) He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us

(Romans 8:28-39 NIV) And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gavehim up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Let’s Provide Support

(Acts 2:42-47 NIV) They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Let’s Stay Close

(Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV) And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Fear Not

1. Fear breeds more fear.

“I’ve been through some terrible times in my life, a few of which actually happened.” - Mark Twain

2. Fear clouds our judgment.

3. Fear redirects energy.

Convert fear into faith.

(2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Prayer

(Psalm 34:4 NLT) I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.

Read God’s Word

(Psalm 91:1-16) I will dwell in the shelter of the Most High and I will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save me from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.

I will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.

“The LORD is my refuge,” and I make the Most High my dwelling, therefore no harm will overtake me, no disaster will come near my tent. For he will command his angels concerning me to guard me in all my ways.

I will call on the LORD, and He will answer me; He will be with me in trouble, and with long life God will satisfy me and show me His salvation.”
